DMG was proud to be a part of the team for the opening of Wolfhead Distillery in Amherstburg Ontario this past weekend. Wolfhead is the first new distillery to open in the region since Prohibition and the only one this side of Stratford. Wolfhead Distillery features six uniquely flavoured spirits as well as a tasting room, patio café and an exceptional menu designed by Red Seal chef Larry Girard.
A brand launch event took place last year, where the DMG team presented label designs for whisky and vodka bottles to a distinguished focus group and worked with input from these selected enthusiasts and community members. The Wolfhead brand was designed to embrace the history of the region with a progressive approach to the tourism mix for our region. The website, logo and brand materials keep in mind the emerging personality of the Wolfhead brand as well as a distinctly unique messaging for media and the region.
The passion to create a destination distillery that celebrates our history and offers unique blends was the brainchild of owner Tom Manherz and his wife Sue. The distillery creates a unique offering to the region that will become a must stop on a wine and spirits tour. Working closely with the knowledge and expertise of industry partners the Manherz’s have developed a rich brand and product line.
Chef Larry Girard, brings his Red Seal touch to a menu that will have people charting their next visit to be enjoyed at Wolfhead’s large, rustic patio, lined with whisky barrels. The Wolfhead brands can be enjoyed with tasty choices of black sesame ahi tuna and barbeque chicken flatbread, among other treats. Bill Baker and Windsor-Essex Trolley Tours are thrilled to add Wolfhead Distillery to their itinerary this summer as a featured stop.
