Well folks, the cool kids have found their new “cool” app and it’s quickly becoming one of the most downloaded apps in both the Apple App Store and Android’s Google Play. Is it a game? Is it an educational tool? No, no, no it’s a social media app and it’s called Vine!
The latest of the social sharing apps was created just one year ago in June 2012 by two developers named Dom Hofmann and Rus Yusupov. It’s a simple app that allows users to create short, creative, funny videos which are no longer than 6 seconds. The app was purchased by social media giant Twitter in October 2012 and was released in Apple’s App Store in January and Android’s Google Play store on June 3rd.
Where does the cool factor come in? You don’t have to shoot 6 consecutive seconds for your videos. You can shoot 6 one second videos, 12 half of a second videos, or really any length of short clips you want. Once you’ve reached your 6 second limit, the app will put all those millisecond clips together and create a short 6 second video for you to post on your feed.
We’ve been doing some “Vining” in our office and checking out some of the best Vines online and we have to admit, it can be pretty addicting. A lot of Vine users are getting really creative with their videos so we decided to create this post called The “Vinest” a collection of the best Vines we’ve seen so far.
*If the Vine doesn’t start automatically click the video itself and be sure to turn the sound on too!
Some people get really creative and artistic with their Vines.
Education can be fun!
It’s also a great way to put your singing skills on display! Or lack thereof…
Have you found a funny, educational, weird, crazy Vine? Email it to us and we’ll add it to the list!
