Over the next few months, we’ll be doing a series of articles featuring a short interview with each member of the DMG team. These questionnaires will bring out some background about our team, allowing everyone to get to know us a little better. The questions may be fun, serious, shallow, silly, probing and/or casual. They will range from “what’s your favorite sports team?” to “what’s the best part about working at DMG?” and everything in between.
Let’s get started shall we?
Since this was Sebastian’s idea, we all voted that he should be the first one questioned! So without further adieu, here are 8 questions with Online Marketing Coordinator Sebastian Agosta.
Q: How long have you been with Douglas Marketing Group?
A: I’ve been with DMG since March of 2012 so almost 8 months.
Q: What was your best vacation ever?
A: My best vacation had to be in the summer of 2009. 10 of my cousins and I went to Italy for about 3 weeks to visit family and take in the sights. Seeing family I haven’t seen in awhile, combined with the beach, combined with the Vespa’s (see left), combined with the food, can not be topped.
Q: What is your favorite sports team?
A: It’s getting to the point where I’m almost ashamed to admit it, but it’s the Toronto Maple Leafs. If they ever made it to the Stanley Cup Finals, I would definitely have to take a couple of “sick” days to see at least one or two games.
Q: Did you have any prior experience in online marketing prior to joining DMG, or did you join right out of college/university?
A: I actually had about 2 years of prior experience in online marketing, however most of it was in the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) field. I also had about 5 years of experience in web design. Since joining DMG though, I’ve really been able to expand my strengths into the fields of social media, SEM (Search Engine Marketing), and more advanced web design.
Q: What is your favorite website to visit on your lunch break?
A: Honestly, I’m always reading the latest from online marketing blogs such as; Hubspot, Search Engine Land and SEO Book. I also spend quite a bit of time reading Bill Simmons on Grantland or checking out The Globe & Mail.
Q: Are you related to Meghan Agosta?
A: Haha, this is easily the question I get asked the most when people hear my last name. Technically, we are cousins, but it’s so far down the line that it’s hard for me to proclaim we’re actually cousins. I have spent time with her though (see right), she’s an amazing person!
Q: How often are you on Facebook?
A: Is this a trick question? Haha. People obsessed with Facebook get ready to be jealous… I actually stay logged into Facebook for my entire work day! The time I actually spend on it is significantly less though. The only time I really get to spend time on it is if I get a notification about someone “Liking” or posting a comment on the DMG Facebook page or if I have to update our page, which I do once a day.
Q: What is the best part about working at DMG?
A: I have to say the best part about working here at DMG is the fact that every idea is heard. From day one Kay, Liz and the team were always available to listen to any idea I had, whether it was related to online marketing or not. The collaborative nature of the workplace is another added bonus. Each member of the team has their own strengths which they bring to the table and when a project is all said and done, everyone has touched it in one way or another.
Thank you to Sebastian for participating in the questionnaire! Check back soon to learn about another member of the DMG crew.
