The votes have been tabulated and the results are in! Liz Farano has been chosen as the next participant in the Meet the DMG Team section of our blog. Those of you who follow our blog are probably already familiar with the format. A couple months ago we asked our Online Marketing Coordinator Sebastian questions like, “Are you related to Meghan Agosta?” and “What was your best vacation ever?”
We had a great time doing it, so we decided to keep the idea rolling. Here are 8 questions with VP of Marketing & Creative – Liz Farano.
Q: How long have you been with Douglas Marketing Group?
A: 7 Amazing Years!
Q: You do a lot of work with not for profit organizations, which one has been the most fun?
A: I am passionate about working with all our non-profit clients. The most exciting part about working with these types of organizations is when we are asked to create a fund development campaign where we are able to work with our client to help reach their fundraising goals and initiatives. We become a part of their team and are involved in making a difference in our communities. We recently have been asked to work with the Windsor & Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation on their $4Million capital campaign. Our team collectively came up with a unique concept called “It’s In Your Jeans” – a campaign developed for the men in our community for awareness, prevention and the fight against prostate cancer. It’s most rewarding when all of the different skill sets and talent of our team come together to create award-winning campaigns. We were recently awarded a GOLD Cancer Awareness Advertising Award for the It’s In Your Jeans website.
Q: If you could eat one type of food or dessert everyday and not suffer any consequences whatsoever, what would it be?
A: Hard to choose!

Q: Which of the following social networks has wasted most of your time? Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Pinterest?
A: I would say Facebook. Although, I try to limit myself to checking facebook to only once or twice a day.
Q: You’ve been in the marketing industry for a few years now, what’s the biggest change from when you started to right now?
A: The biggest change in marketing today are the technological advancements. As marketers, we need to be ready to provide solutions for our clients that include multimedia approaches. We need to stay ahead of the curve and understand how technology can impact our clients’ ROI. Today, we are committed to continuous improvement, technology and research to be able to provide the best ideas to match our clients’ needs.
Q: Which hit reality TV show is your guilty pleasure?
A: The Bachelor! I’m hooked!
Q: What’s your absolute dream car? The one car you know you’ll never be able to own, but wish you could?
A: Audi S6. White with light beige interior, stick shift! I think it’s the perfect car for me. Not that I’ve thought about that before or anything 🙂
Q: What’s the most important thing you’ve learned working in the marketing industry?
A: The most important thing I have learned is that people prefer to work with someone they like, know and trust. The marketing industry is about relationships, building networks and connecting like-minded people – It’s about ongoing partnership development and it’s what DMG does best.
Thanks for participating Liz! Stay tuned to the DMG blog for our next Meet the DMG Team segment.
