Last night the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce held their 2015 Business Excellence Awards at the Augustus Hall at Caesars Windsor. It was the Chamber’s 25th (Silver Anniversary) of the BEA’s and the largest BEA’s in terms of guests (over 900) in the event’s history.
A few members of the DMG team attended the sparkling event in support of our client Thomas’ Utopia Brand’s award nomination in the International Business Award. DMG was also there in support of local business as a whole. No event captures and rewards the plethora of small business successes in the Windsor-Essex area quite like the BEA’s.
Highlights from the event included the touching Athena Award appreciation video and presentation to a well-deserving Loretta Stoyka-Henderson. Mrs. Stoyka-Henderson was recognized for her work in the community at a business and volunteer level. Other highlights included the recognition of philanthropy through the “Believe Windsor-Essex Awards” to Barry and Stephanie Zekelman. Their tireless work in the community includes supporting Transition 2 Betterness (T2B) and help with the fund development of the Atlas Tube Centre in Lakeshore.
Some of the award winners throughout the other award categories included: Hummazing (New Business of the Year), Radix (Innovation) and Julia Lee (Young Professional of the Year). The unofficial award for best acceptance speech went to CS Wind (Large Company of the Year), who used part of their acceptance speech to pitch the fact that they’re in dire need of Welders to help grow their business.
Congratulations to all nominees and winners on an amazing year! We’re already looking forward to 2016!
