Kay Douglas, a lifelong Windsor resident and president of Douglas Marketing Group, is the new president of the Detroit-Windsor chapter of Executive Women International.

Douglas said one of the key roles of EWI is "breaking down the barrier between the two countries, providing seamless opportunities to build both relationships and an understanding of our cultural, political and heritage differences."

Douglas is only the second Canadian president of the local chapter since it was established in 1968.

In addition to regular meetings, the local chapter also holds social and networking get-togethers.

Headquartered in Salt Lake, EWI has more than 75 chapters across Canada, the U.S. and Europe with more than 3,000 companies and 3,500 representatives among its membership.

It was established in 1938.
