Liz Farano, Douglas Marketing Group VP, Honoured with Distinction Award

April 27, 2017) Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Alumni Association honoured the recipients of this year’s Alumni of Distinction Awards on Wednesday night, and Douglas Marketing Group’s Vice President, Liz Farano, was named for her award-winning work in marketing and her commitment to the community. The honour marks the first time two principals from the same company have been selected. DMG’s president, Kay Douglas, won the award in 2002, the same year Farano graduated from St. Clair College. Since then, Farano has continued to distinguish herself through passionate creativity and innovative leadership.

Farano joined DMG in 2006 as Creative Director, but quickly proved she had the potential to take on an even greater role within the company. As both VP and Creative Director, she now leads creative development across both the Canadian and US offices. With locations in Windsor and Detroit, Farano helps ensure the standard for creating successful, results-driven campaigns is delivered to DMG clients across North America.

Farano is also co-founder of 100 Women Who Care Windsor Essex, a non-profit organization which has grown significantly over the past few years, influencing the launch of both 100 Men Who Give a Damn and 100 Kids Who Care.

This latest honour is certainly a reflection of Farano’s passion, commitment and dedication to her family, friends, co-workers, clients and community. “Liz has a unique creative vision that she brings to everything she does and every aspect of her work. Developing stellar branding and dynamic campaigns for clients is the norm.” says Douglas. “This approach extends to her continued commitment to the community, both as a mentor and change-maker”.

With a similar focus, DMG is attracting talent to the region to discover world-class opportunities that they may not have realized were available here.

With over 95,000 alumni, there is no shortage of talent to choose from in selecting the award recipients. “This award is a real honour and truly validates all of our efforts. I am so proud to be part of a stellar team and to work in this amazing, international region”, says Farano.
